Creating a way for gamers to connect and compete.
A social application for gamers that allows you to browse the web while in-game, chat with your friends, and compete with them in tournaments. GotGame was an 'ahead-of-its-time' gaming application that had features more robust than Steam in 2008. We built the app with Adobe Air which allowed us to overlay our application over your game, as well as leverage other developers Air apps and bring them along.
We built a strong SEO strategy with original content across the entire gaming sphere. We built an internship program that attracted content creators from all types of gaming backgrounds and gave them a platform to let their voices be heard and opinions about games be respected throughout the communities.
While building and testing with users, we realized we may have created too many features and needed to invest in a core experience. We realized through testing that our users really raved about the in-game browser. We decided to break it out and called it GotGame Rogue.
While GotGame didn't stand the test of time, I'm still proud of the work we did and our finger was on the pulse right before the gaming industry had a massive surge. Check out what IGN and TechCrunch wrote about GotGame in 2008.
